The 'pirate' themed play park was opened today by pupils from Leith Primary School and Vice Convener for Culture and Communities Councillor Amy McNeese-Mechan.

The play park is now one of the city's largest play spaces including equipment desired by the community. A parkour unit, a Rolli trampoline suitable for wheelchair users and a natural play area have been installed.

Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspaces Trust consulted the community on desired equipment.

Councillor Amy McNeese-Mechan was in attendance and in a video posted to Twitter told Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust;

"We would love to see these in as many places as we can afford to put them in because it is very much we want to be doing as a city, is encouraging our young people to get out and enjoy very happy healthy active lives".
