Hidden Jewel

Saughton Park and Gardens is a 'hidden jewel' providing both beautifully cultivated gardens and modern practical park facilities.
As the park's redevelopment concludes it really is better than ever. The cash boost has seen the return of the park's iconic bandstand, the improvement of the glasshouse and installation of outdoor gym equipment and much more!
The park boasts large playing fields, an athletics track, an outdoor gym and the largest skate park in Scotland. As well as beautiful gardens, including the famous rose garden, winter garden, walled garden and Scottish physics garden.
As Scotland’s first eco park, ground source heating is used in the park’s buildings including the glasshouse. In a pioneering scheme it is hoped by the end of 2019 ‘micro hydro’ energy will be produced from the Water of Leith which runs through the park. A café is also expected to open by the end of this year.
Public toilets are available in the Winter Gardens from 9am to 6pm. The park is serviced by bus routes; 22, 3, 33, 36, 1, 30.
